Guidelines

for Induction Training Programme
Government of Andhra Pradesh, Department of School Education is decided to conduct Induction Training for new teachers recruited by 2014 DSC. The Induction Training programme helps the new teachers transition into a school and provide the critical support these teachers need to begin an effective teaching career. Comprehensive, high-quality teacher induction can accelerate professional growth and teacher effectiveness.
The following are the guidelines to conduct Induct Training at district level:
District level Committee:
·         District Educational Officer is the overall in-charge of Induction Training Programme.
·         A committee should be constituted to conduct Induction Training at District level with DEO, DIET Principal, one Dy. EO, one MEO, one DIET faculty.
Venue:
·         Identified required number of venues for the training programme.
·         Provide LCD facility in all the classrooms.
·         Provide generator.
·         Induction Training is residential in nature. Arrange accommodation for the resource persons and trainees.
·         Each classroom should be suitable for the capacity of 50 participants.
Guest Lectures
·         Identify local / famous guests to deliver guest lectures on academic issues.
·         Provide one guest lecture each day in the training programme.
·         Invite NGOs wherever available.
Transaction
·         DEO / Dy.E.O. should take at-least one class in each centre.
·         ICT usage is compulsory in all the training venues.
·         Arrange field visits to nearby good practicing schools / NGO.
·         The ambiance of the training venue should be resemble academic and motivating environment.
·         Posters / Quotations on education should be display in each classroom.
·         One English teacher / resource person is must in each venue.


Material
·          Provide sufficient material to prepare TLM i.e., charts, sketch pens, scales, pencils, scissors, tape roles, fevistick, cardboards, glue, staplers, bell pins, old news papers, magazines etc.
·         Provide required number of textbooks from class I to V.
·         Provide 200 pages long note book for all the trainees. The same book will be utilize for the next follow up / training programmes.
·         Display reference / resource books for the teachers in all venues. Give opportunity to all the trainees to read those books and write note on them.
·         Handbook : SCERT will supply the CD of handbook the same will be print and supply to all the trainees and make them to utilize properly.
Monitoring
·         Appoint Dy. EO / School Complex HM / MEO as course Director.
·         Appointing one sitting observer not below the rank of GHM for each venue.
·         Involve DIET faculty / RVM faculty to monitor the training.
·         DEO should visit one venue every day.
·         Course Director should ensure 100% attendance of trainees every day.
·         Arrange helpdesk in DEO office to monitor attendance of trainees and other issues related to training programme.
Documentation
·         Constitute a documentation committee in each venue.
·         Give wide publicity about training programme in print and electronic media every day.
·         Document daily activities with photos and evidences.
