VISAKHAPATNAM: Notification for the APSET (AP State Eligibility Test for teachers posts) will be issued on March 19, said Andhra University vice-chancellor G Nageswara Rao here on Wednesday.
Online applications would be accepted from March 30 to April 10 without any fine. A fine of Rs 1,000 would be imposed on applicants from May 10 to 17 and this would be increased to Rs 2,000 from May 18 to 24 and to Rs 5,000 from May 24 to June 10.
The exam is slated to be held on July 30. General category candidates would have to pay an examination fee of Rs 1,000, while BCs, SCs and STs will have to pay Rs 800 and Rs 500 respectively. The exam would be held at centres in Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Guntur, Ananthapur, Nellore and Tirupati.
APSET would be held in 31 subjects along with language questionnaires in English and Telugu. Each questionnaire would have questions pertaining to eight subjects.
Regarding the response to the exam last year, the vice-chancellor noted that there was a tremendous response last year with more than 55,000 applicants appearing for the test.
Nageswara Rao said he expected the response this year to be better than last year. Andhra University is responsible for conducting the exam. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of their Post Graduate examination may also appear in this examination.
OBC category candidates have to pay application fee of Rs 500.
For SC/ST/PH/VH candidates application fee is Rs 250.
Fee must to be paid through bank Challan only.

Good news for assistant professor / Lecturer post aspirants. The AP State Eligibility Test- APSET 2017 notification is likely to be released in the month of April 2017 by Andhra University. AP SET 2017 for recruitment as Assistant Professors or Lecturer in various Universities, Degree Colleges & Institutions of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh. SET is mandatory for lectureship in colleges and universities in the state. Those who have qualified in the National Eligibility Test(NET) conducted by UGC need not take it. Both government and private institutions consider the SET score while recruiting faculty.APSET 2017 Eligibility Criteria:
